| The butterfly in the two photos just above
was a surprise, simply landing in front of me on the table of a 'malga'
where we stopped for a drink. It was my first encounter with this species. This
is the Eris form with a buff colour on the hindwing underside
instead of silver and clear black outlining of the central spots. The
small buff spot is present at the base of the cell, but there is no
black pupil in it. |
